108. Pairpoint pedestal
weight with a ruby and white filigree design, inside
a crystal globe on a fancy-cut foot, engraved with flowers on
stems of leaves. "These distinctive weights comprise a solid
glass sphere whose motif is an upright, two-colored, spiral roughly
in the shape of an egg, the sphere mounted on a base that may
be plain, or engraved with leaves, or simple cross-hatching."The

109. John Degenhart amethyst
flash overlay window weight with a yellow and red upright
lily set in an amber-flashed crystal cube, with an opaque top
facet, four side windows and a bottom window. A bubble decorates
the flower center. "During off-duty hours John and Charles
made some pressed ware (glass formed in a mold), but their first
love was always paperweights. The brothers experimentation
led to the production of some paperweights incorporating novel
techniques and ideas. These pieces include rare photographic
weights and the brothers most spectacular creationsix-sided
encased blocks that became known as window weights."Paperweight

110. Czechoslovakian fantasy
flower bouquet weight containing three-dimensional orange
blossoms, each with five petals arranged around a central bubble,
growing from a red and yellow pot. The arrangement is set in
an egg-shaped crystal globe with geometric cutting. This piece
is believed to have been produced between 1900 and 1930. From

111. Edward
Rithner matching paperweight bookends, each piece containing
an eight-petaled flower, with white-edged teal petals around
a white center with a bubble, growing from a bed of teal and
white glass. Each piece is mounted on a cookie base, which is
flattened on one side (the side meant to press up against books).

Moses in the bulrushes plaque with the pressed image
of Moses floating inside a basket in a fancy ridged plaque. "The
Gillinder sons may have gotten the idea from New England, which
had made a similar portrait weight of Victoria and Albert in
