246. Whitefriars 1978 star millefiori weight containing a central red, white and blue star/cog cane encircled by rows of cog/six-pointed star canes and bundled rods, in pink, blue, white and lime. An inner circlet of canes is highly complex, with each cane composed of more than fifty elements. Signature/date cane. Five and one faceting. Whitefriars 1975 Christmas angel weight with the central millefiori mosaic portrait cane of an angel encircled by three rows of canes, including a row of twelve smaller angel portraits, blue stardust canes and pistachio complex cog/star canes. Five and one faceting. Signature/date cane. Limited edition of 1000. Whitefriars 1977 millefiori mosaic nativity scene weight containing a central millefiori mosaic of the manger, with the blue silhouette of Mary looking down on a manger in a barn, beneath a yellow millefiori star flanked by the millefiori mosaic portraits of two angels. The angels are set in a sea of blue and white stardust canes encircled by a double garland of pink, white and blue cog/six-pointed star canes. Signature/date cane. Five and one faceting. Limited edition of 1000. "The Christmas weight is part of a limited edition of five hundred, but the Whitefriars records held by Caithness Glass, who bought the company in receivership, show that most limited editions were never produced in full.
