latticinio tube millefiori weight with circlets of complex
cog, trefoil, star and quatrefoil canes interspersed with circlets
of hollow latticinio tubes inside a pink, pale green and yellow
stave basket. Signature/date cane. Acid etched with the Baccarat

281. Baccarat 1976 Gridel
white monkey paneled carpet ground weight with a large
monkey silhouette cane set into an alternating green and blue
carpet of complex cogs, with the colors divided into panels by
white millefiori spokes containing the other seventeen Gridel
silhouette canes. Signature/date cane. Acid etched with the Baccarat
insignia. Limited edition of 350. "Last but not least, Baccarat
had the idea, around 1970, of producing millefiori weights based
on the collection of the 18 Gridel animals that had adorned and
became the trademark of the Baccarat millefiori of the nineteenth

tuft, with circlets of complex cog, star and triangle-shaped
canes, in pink, pale green, yellow, powder blue, cobalt blue
and white. A three-dimensional blue stem extends down to a star-cut
ground, inside a blue-over-white double overlay cut with a fancy
top facet and six side facets. Signature/date cane. Acid etched
