Clichy multi-faceted paperweight, with central ring of six
feathery pink roses, surrounding a green and pink pastry mold
cane. The center is then encircled by two pair of cinquefoil
garlands, divided by a ring of five boldly spaced cobalt blue
canes, on strips of white lace.
"(Clichy was) founded at Billancourt near Paris in 1837...It
was not long before the paperweights made in the crystal works
were in demand in the shops in Paris. As early as 1849 the crystal
works at Saint Louis were informed by a Paris dealer that Clichy
could not deliver as many paperweights as were wanted."-Paperweights

Rare Clichy piedouche paperweight with five concentric
rows of complex millefiori in shades of pink, jade, cobalt, white,
and cabbage purple. A circlet of eight uniform pink roses around
a central pastry mold cane, are all expertly set in a curving
basket of alternative turquoise and white staves, which form
the pedestal. Clear glass foot. From the Henry Stern collection
(See Sotheby & Co. London, 22 July, 1953, lot 113; see also
Christies New York, 24 September, 1997, lot 170).

Baccarat panel-design paperweight composed of complex
millefiori in shades of royal blue, coral, shamrock green and
white on a honeycomb carpet ground of pale aqua.
