Saint Louis green carpet ground paperweight
with a central cane cluster encircled by five silhouette canes, including a dog, dancing couple, dancing devil, a man and a woman.
"Incorporation of these canes may also have occurred more or less simultaneously with that of their rival (Baccarat)... Whenever they first appeared... St. Louis silhouettes are home-grown designs with no indication of any outside influence."-The Glass Menagerie, John D. Hawley (1995).

Rare Baccarat red and white stardust carpet ground paperweight.
A formal array of complex cog canes pop out of the ground in cobalt blue, salmon and lettuce green. Sharply detailed silhouettes include a butterfly, deer, horse, dog, rooster, elephant, pigeon and goat.

held aloft in the crystal on a bed of muslin. The center cane has six-point white stars with red centers, divided by sections of arrow canes, encircled by a complex garland, and two interlaced trefoil garlands. Six and one facets.

Saint Louis dated concentric millefiori mushroom paperweight,
the tuft composed of five rows of complex canes, around a central cane in ruby, salmon, chartreuse, royal blue, white and pale green. The stem extends downward to a star-cut ground, inside a blue and white lace filigree torsade. SL1848 signature/date cane. Provenance: from the Charles Gaylord collection.
