Lot 32
Baccarat clematis and bud paperweight, the flower
with six ridged, red and white petals. The central details of

A bursting red bud emerges from the wilds of the green leaves,
suspended in its clear crystal ground.

"A fine antique French paperweight is indubitably, by any
standard, a combination of beauty and harmony, execution and
technique. If it is true that the artistic merits of an object
are in proportion to the success with which draftsmanship or
craftsmanship has been blended with taste, then antique French
paperweights must score very high." -A Garland of Weights,
Frank J. Manheim (1967).
