The casual arrangement contains a robust apple, two Rubenesque pears and three oversized cherries on a bed of rich green leaves. The warmly colored fruits are formally arranged in a swirling white latticinio basket (See Paperweights, Jargstorf, p. 28). Diameter 3 1/4". Estimate: $1250 - 1750

The stylized green leaves fan out like French fleur-de-lis. A dramatic star-cut ground radiates through the clear glass. In the Victorian book The Language of Flowers, turnips are said to represent "charity."
