Baccarat scramble or macedoine paperweight, composed
of short segments of blue, pink, green and yellow striped white
canes. Baccarat insignia on the base. An unusal design, which
suggests a dish of wrapped sweets laid out for special guests.

Lot 209
Baccarat Gridel pelican paperweight encircled by concentric
canes, including a ring of the eighteen Gridel silhouettes, on
upset muslin. The playfulness of the silhouettes is inherent
to their original creator, a nine-year old boy entertaining himself
with cut-outs in 1847. Due to young Joseph's preternatural graphics
skills,
"...Baccarat had the idea, around 1970, of producing millefiori
weights based on the collection of the 18 Gridel animals that
had adorned and became the trademark of the Baccarat millefiori

shades of green, blue, crimson, yellow and white, and including
two rings of clear canes, which draw the eye into the depth of
the crystal's interior.

Baccarat close concentric millefiori mushroom paperweight.
The tuft is comprised of circlets of complex cog and floret
canes, in pink, yellow and white. A three-dimensional stem extends
down and balances en pointe fashion, inside a tomato-over-white
double overlay with five and one facets. 1973 signature/date
cane.

Baccarat Gridel rooster paperweight, encircled by
concentric millefiori, including one ring of the eighteen Gridel
canes, on upset muslin. 1971 signature/date cane. Limited edition
of 1200.
"(M)illefiori canes made in the sixties and seventies are
particularly outstanding Baccarat products... (T)here appeared
a series of paperweights with old Gridel motifs... The main motif
is always a large silhouette in the center, surrounded by a circle
