Lot 298
Lot 298
Orient & Flume black widow spider paperweight.
The stylized latticinio cleverly mimics a spider's web. As the spider sits in its woven lair, the multi-tiered pink flower seems to lean its head into the sticky trap. The wavy green leaves are another naturalistic detail. Signed. Limited edition of 250 by Scott Beyers.
Diameter 3 3/8". Estimate: $400 - 550

Orient & Flume Christmas candles paperweight.
A festive centerpiece design of glowing tapers, bound by striped ribbon on a wreath of holly leaves and berries. On snow-white ground. Limited edition of 250.
Diameter 2 15/16". Estimate: $250 - 350

Lot 300
Lot 300
Orient & Flume blue peacock paperweight
with a long, green millefiori tail, on a swath of dark colored glass. The millefiori in the tail are pulled out of their tight shapes, and the unfocused, blended quality suggests the dimensional feathers, ruffling, nearly ready to fan out in display. Signed/dated 1984.
Diameter 3 1/16". Estimate: $300 - 500

Lot 301
Lot 301
Harold Hacker three-dimensional black octopus paperweight
with black and white eyes, on mottled translucent aqua ground. A bulbous, comical octopus, caught out from its garden perhaps, much to its chagrin.
Diameter 2 11/16". Estimate: $250 - 350
