Chris Buzzini ribbon bouquet paperweight. With six
yellow-centered dark blue gilia blossoms, four blue buds, dark
green leaves, roots and a pink ribbon. The ribbon winds throughout
the flowers and their stems, enhancing the curve of the design
and providing complementary color. Signed/dated 1997. Limited
edition of one.

Lot 110
Chris Buzzini Spring Medley bouquet paperweight. A
botanically accurate portrayal with a trumpet-shaped pink morning
glory, a blue Tahoka daisy, grape hyacinth, yellow sticky cinquefoil,
pink blossoms with upright stamen, and a red bud spray. Integrating
the natural colors and floral shapes into a graceful swoop of
stems and leaves, the design is framed by the sparkling facets
of the mitre-cut sides. Signed/dated 1992. Artist's proof. "I
am constantly reviewing my reference material. As I learn to
make one flower, I take steps to make others that were unapproachable
before. The knowledge becomes cumulative and complexity becomes

Lot 112
Chris Buzzini "Maxillaria Tenuifolia," or coconut
orchid paperweight. A tropical composition, celebrating this
hearty orchid with dark-spotted yellow petals, green leaves and
root system on clear ground. The latin name "maxilaria"
alludes to the column and lip inside the ringent flowers of some
species which somewhat resemble the jaws of an insect. Signed/dated
1991. Limited edition of 40.

Lot 113
Chris Buzzini Sunflower paperweight. An elegant sunflower
in a languorous pose like Ingrés' Odalisque. The plush
brown face, crowned in gold petals, is accented with a new blossom.
The broad green leaves have a delicacy of gesture. The flower's
stem curves to the base where a root bulb is dressed in tendrils.
Over a clear crystal ground; signed/dated 1997. Limited edition
of one.

A wonderfully detailed study of the showy orchid blossom,
