paperweight the canes appear larger, allowing their details to

Julie Scrutton Lewis close packed complex millefiori paperweight.
Scrutton Lewis is one of the few independent American glass
artists working exclusively in the classic style of millefiori
design. This design employs a dazzling array of canes, including
arrow, edelweiss, cog, pastry-mold, star, and florets in blue,
red, green, purple, pink, turquoise, yellow and white on translucent
red ground. In the center of one of the canes, a pansy face,
likely an homage to her mentors at Parabelle Glass. Signed/dated
1998. Limited edition of 50.

Julie Scrutton Lewis concentric millefiori paperweight.
Two rows of jewel-colored canes, embellish a white rose center
cane with aventurine leaves. The faces are all well-placed and
the millefiori seem swathed by the cobalt blue and white torsade.
The design is set on a white ground, which gives the colors and
details sharp definition. Signed/dated 1999. Limited edition
of 10.

Emulating the variety of complex millefiori and coloration of
the master glass artisans of Clichy, Scrutton Lewis fashions
her designs with precision and imagination. The bits of eye-candy
snuggle into a restful opaque ground of pale salmon pink. Signed/dated
