Drew Ebelhare miniature paperweight. Close concentric
complex millefiori in blue, green, red, yellow and white encircle
a central signature cane and rest in a white stave basket. A
dense bouquet of complementary colors and diversity of cane styles.

Drew Ebelhare close concentric millefiori paperweight.
Comprised of uniquely shaped hollow, asterisk, and honeycomb
canes, this is a bold design, with a great deal of visual interest.
The shifting shades of blue, pink, green and yellow, punctuated
with white, create new colors where their hard and soft edges
meet; all framed in a mauve stave basket. "That's one
of the things that is most exciting to me. I'm not trying to
find a color to match the petals of a particular flower, or a
green to recreate the shading of a leaf. I'm using color to create

Lot 148
Drew Ebelhare miniature paperweight. An excellent
display of the classic period millefiori technique in contemporary
hands. Great attention was paid throughout the miniature arrangement
to give each cane's face full exposure. The formal design features
close concentric millefiori, with a central signature cane encircled
by blue and white bull's-eye canes, and a tomato red and white
stave basket. By varying the size of the millefiori and mixing
warm and cool colors effectively, the composition is given depth
and provides interest. Signed/dated 1996.

Drew Ebelhare millefiori cross basket paperweight.
Breaking from tradition by using bright candy colors throughout
the design, the artist still evokes the sophistication of patterned
millefiori from the classic French factories-era. With a central
signature cane, the design is suspended over a deep cobalt ground
in a pink and white stave basket. Signed/dated 1993.
