Lot 206
Charles Kaziun, Jr. millefiori garland stopper, in a large
Gunderson-Pairpoint Glass Works bottle (ca. pre-1970s). A
voluptuous beaker-shaped bottle of clear crystal on a pedestal,
with an eye-catching stopper containing a ring of heart and pastry
mold canes, surrounding a shamrock cane, on a gold-stone flecked,
ultramarine opaque ground. The Gunderson factory of Massachusetts
(whom had once operated as Mount Washington Glass, then eventually
became Pairpoint) likely commissioned the stopper from Kaziun,
the well-known Brockton, Massachussetts "paperweight pioneer,"
who had learned all the classic era glass techniques on his own
and made miniature paperweights and buttons for over forty years.
Gunderson foil sticker, and 'K' signature cane on the reverse
of the paperweight-style stopper.
Diameter of stopper 1 15/16", Height of bottle 11".

a green aventurine body with red eyes and yellow spots, all over

one of the faux-Ysart paperweights made in the mid-1980s. See
