with a great bubbling background in shades of amethyst and blue,
surrounding lighter-than-air leaf shapes, swirling in effervescent

Caithness Glass 1999 "City Limits" high-domed
paperweight, by designer Alastair MacIntosh. With an extra-terrestrial
central golden bubble, hovering above a layer of tiny white spires
on blue flash ground. The frosted exterior, engraved with a city
skyline, adds the perfect drama to this diorama, which suggests
"out-of-town" visitors. Tilted oval front facet. Signed.
Limited edition of 125.

Caithness Glass 1993 "Everest" domed paperweight,
designed by Alastair MacIntosh. To commemorate the 40th Anniversary
of the success of Hilary and Tensing, who reached the top in
1953. A minimalist glass landscape, yet still evocative of the
awesome mountain range. Over blue-flash ground, with acid-etched
insignia. Limited edition of 750.

Caithness Glass 1996 "Wild Orchids" spherical
paperweight, designed by Allan Scott. Two naturalistically
lampworked orchid flowers, one in scarlet and the other in a
plummy purple with a bright yellow petal lip. With slender, bright
green leaves and stems, encased in clear crystal. Signature cane
at the end of the orchids' stems. Scalloped cutting along the
window face, with oblong printies around the side, and elaborate
star-cutting on the base. Limited edition of 25.

Caithness Glass 1997 "Heron" spherical paperweight,
by designer William Manson. A white and black bird wading
in a pond, resembling a black-crowned night heron, stalks its
favorite aquatic prey near reeds and marsh lilies, over translucent
amber ground. Front and back window facets; signature cane. Limited
edition of 150.
