Lot 45
*Antique Saint Louis camomile, or pom-pon, paperweight,
on pink latticinio ground, with small white bud. In flower language,
the camomile is said to represent "energy in adversity."
The luminous pom-pon, from which the slender swirls of the latticinio
emanate, is truly beautifully made. "Most pompons are
virtuoso demonstrations of the seemingly miraculous level of
technical ability attained by nineteenth-century glassworkers."
