*Antique Saint Louis faceted scrambled millefiori paperweight.
This design alludes to the Venetian glass styles of the 18th c., with its dense melange and riotous palette. The pleasure a collector can get in sifting through the bits of citron, cobalt blue, and ruby glass is exponentially increased by the top geometric window and three rows of printies on the side. See The Art of the Paperweight, p. 80; The Encyclopedia of Glass Paperweights, p. 89. Minor scratches, chips along some facets.
Diameter 3 1/16". $1000-1400
