*Rick Ayotte 1990 swamp sparrow with snowdrops and mushrooms paperweight,
over clear glass. A sparrow seeks shelter in a thatch of long-leafed flowers on a rocky patch of ground. "Due to the shy nature of this bird, I was inclined to include mushrooms in the design. ...This was my first dimensional side-view weight." --Rick Ayotte, Songs Without Words. Signed and dated. *Rick Ayotte 1999 pansy bouquet paperweight.
Drawing on the antique motif of the Classic-era pansy, Ayotte updates his bouquet by arranging his flowers in a natural manner, taking up nearly all the glass inside. Signed. Limited edition of 25.

with small white flowers. A masterful rendition of the red rose, on a bed of rich, waxy leaves, some darker and more mature, all curving a bit and adding to the dimensionality of the design. Signed and dated. Limited edition of 25.
