*Rick Ayotte 1990 swamp sparrow with snowdrops and mushrooms
paperweight, over clear glass. A sparrow seeks shelter in
a thatch of long-leafed flowers on a rocky patch of ground. "Due
to the shy nature of this bird, I was inclined to include mushrooms
in the design. ...This was my first dimensional side-view weight."

on the antique motif of the Classic-era pansy, Ayotte updates
