Randall Grubb "Reflections" crystal cylinder
sculpture, ca. late-1990s, with pale pink flowers, blue forget-me-nots
and white foxglove, all entwined in a pile of flecked stones.
The composition suggests a meadow scene, and its size and shape
suggest the direction Grubb would take into even larger encasements.
"The creation of a Reflection demands a complete dedication
to the process unlike any that I have ever experienced. You reach
a point in the artistic process where you forget about how much
time it takes to make a piece, or how much physical pain you
inflict on yourself to create it. The only important thing is
to create the finished piece." --Randall Grubb, "The
Creation of a Feeling in Glass," Glass Collector's Digest
(Volume IX, No. 6).
Height 3 9/16"; Diameter 3 5/16" (without stone base).
