Lot 205
Saint Louis 1990 clear-encased blue-over-white double
overlay gingham upright bouquet paperweight, the bouquet
showing lampwork flowers in red, white, royal blue, baby blue,
maroon and chartreuse, with complex millefiori centers, on a
bed of green leaves. A three-dimensional stem extends down to
the bottom of the weight. The piece was inspired by a famous
Saint Louis antique weight. It is known as one of the most difficult
of all paperweights to create. The arrangement is encased inside
a fancy gingham-cut blue-over-white double overlay. The overlay
is encased in crystal. An "SL1990" signature/date cane
may be seen inside the white flower. Limited edition of 50.

Saint Louis 1996 compound wavy garlands of complex millefiori
paperweight, comprised of wavy strings of complex millefiori
in pink, blue and white over an opaque white ground; signature/date
cane. The bottom strings are resting in the ground, similar to
the classic "sodden snow" style. Limited edition of
200.
