Lot 237
*Perthshire Paperweights 1974 flower and buds paperweight,
with a clematis-style flower featuring dark-tipped petals, bright green leaves and stems, and two buds, over an opaque lilac ground. Settled down into the flawless field of lavender, the flower appears to be painted in simple strokes. This design exhibits the remarkable "less is more" achievements of the Perthshire artisans, in and among other more patterned Special Yearly Collection pieces. Signature "P" cane near the stem and paper label. See The Art of the Paperweight: Perthshire, p. 63. Limited edition of 345.
Diameter 3". $250-400

Lot 238
*Perthshire Paperweights 1975 Christmas flower paperweight,
a white rose and bud set in clear crystal; one top facet and star-cut base. The minimalistic qualities enhance the subtleties of this pretty blossom, especially the mustard-color radiating around the flower's stamen, creating depth in what is a very flat assembly. Slight curling at the petals' edges is suggested by swirls in the overlay of white. Signed "P" cane at the flower's center. Limited edition of 347.
Diameter 2 11/16". $300-400
