Lot 275
*Cape Cod Glass Works pastel canes on upset muslin paperweight,
ca. 1990s, with four Clichy-type roses studded between the
arms of the cross-pattern. If glass can suggest a lighter-than-air
character, this Cape Cod work is as tremulous as a dandelion,
or a handful of downy feathers from a rare Sagamore bird. Signed
"W Burchfield," and a paper label.
Diameter 3". $400-500 |

Lot 276
*Cape Cod Glass Works 1993 bi-colored swirl paperweight.
In a pleasing ruby-red grapefruit color, turning alongside

In a challenge to the best vision, a Clichy-type rose nestles
at the center, surrounded by a concentric guard of deeply pleated
cog canes in a pale blue. Signed "W Burchfield," and
a paper label.
Diameter 2 15/16". $400-500 |

a microscopic, central signature cane. Signed "W Burchfield".

Lot 278
*Cape Cod Glass Works concentric millefiori paperweight,
ca. 1990s. Marked by an obvious kinship with Clichy, the
Cape Cod style offers pastry mold, cluster, rod, floret and rose
canes in harmonious, opaline colors. Settled into the dark kelp-green
ground under a low-dome, as if it were a millefiori fairy-ring
captured in glass. Signed by artist "W Burchfield,"
and paper label.
Diameter 3". $350-400 |
