Lot 307
*Lundberg Studios 1976 three fish paperweight, another
early work from this vanguard West Coast glass studio. Blending
the "ice-pick" techniques of Art Nouveau glass, with
Lundberg's own relaxed, experimental nature, these small fish
are imbued with a comical charisma. They float in a hyper turquoise
bay, surrounded by stylized sand dunes. Signed and dated "Lundberg
Studios," and inscribed "1844."
Diameter 2 7/8". $150-250 |

*Lundberg Studios 1974 yellow butterfly paperweight. The
bold little navigator is marked with four iridescent "eye-spots"
and is surrounded by ribbons of cream-colored glass, over an
ever-changing surface. "Lundberg and his team, however,
find the greatest challenge in creating designs suitable to the
surface of a sphere. ...One of the projects in the future is
adapting some of the classical French motifs to (their) iridescent
colors." --The Annual Bulletin of the PCA (1974). Signed
"SL" (Steven Lundberg), and dated "7/74".
Chip topside.
Diameter 3 1/16". $150-250 |

*Lundberg Studios ca. mid-1970s experimental fish paperweight.
Likely the prototype for the angelfish piece, which was the
first of a series of limited edition paperweights to be issued
by the Lundberg Studios. The iridescence on one side shows splits,
signs of stress in an "experimental" surface. Signed
by the artist Mark Cantor and inscribed "6/74 XFO".
