Lot 14
Rare antique St. Mande concentric millefiori paperweight,
with five rings of assorted complex canes in blue, white and red, including a border garland of 33 white and green St. Mande shard roses. "Considering the short life of the Nocus [St. Mande] factory (1841-1857), it is amazing that its workers were able to create such a rich variety of millefiori canes… weights from this small company rival the excellence we see in the production of the major French factories." -Identifying Antique Paperweights: The Less Familiar.
Diameter 2 5/8". $3000-5000

Lot 16
Outstanding antique Bohemian scattered millefiori paperweight,
with a central horse silhouette cane, surrounded by assorted complex canes in yellow, blue, and white, and bits of colored filigree in blue, yellow, red, and green, on white upset muslin. This horse, full and well-proportioned like a fine Lipizzaner stallion, is usually white or black on a contrasting background and forms the centerpiece of a complex cane." -The Glass Menagerie: A Study of Silhouette Canes in Antique Paperweights.
