Parabelle Glass quatrefoil millefiori garlands paperweight,
with a central white and green rose, encircled by a ring of white stars, and surrounded by a pair of interlaced quatrefoil garlands: one of lavender pansy canes, and one of pink complex canes, on cranberry ground. Signed/dated 1995. LE #9 of 10. Includes paper label.

Lot 216
Parabelle Glass pansy and rose chequer paperweight,
with an assortment of thirteen pansy canes in pink, purple, blue, and white, and twelve Clichy-type rose canes, in pink, white, yellow, and green, divided by a matrix of crisscrossed white cables, on emerald green aventurine ground. "Parabelle's trademark has come to be its unique pansy cane. A former florist, [artist] Gary [Scrutton] says he has always had a special fondness for these flowers. He had seen numerous lampwork pansies in paperweights, but never a pansy cane. The challenge to create such a complex piece of millefiori was irresistible to Scrutton."-Annual Bulletin of the PCA (1993-94). Signed/dated 1998. Artist proof.
